Cities Festival
4 November 2026
Venue: Climate Academy, Paris
Join UNP+, NetworkNature, and the City of Paris for the Cities Festival - a full day of capacity building and peer to peer exchange. Specifically designed for nature curious cities, the event will offer workshops that draw concrete links between Horizon Europe projects and barriers and enablers to crafting and implementing Urban Nature Plans.
Urban Nature Plans are strategic frameworks that support the implementation of the Nature Restoration Regulation at the local and regional level. They formalise a city's commitment to promoting biodiversity and urban nature. As such, they are a cross cutting tool for integrating nature, well being, and biodiversity across the city landscape. Our hands-on workshop sessions will explore how governments protect, restore, and work with nature; how governments engage in inclusive decision-making and inform policy with practice in order to improve the health and quality of life for everyone.
Each session will focus on practice and meaningfully include (or be led by) a representative(s) from a local or regional government. Join us in Paris this November to connect with cities, share your own learnings, and see the urban nature work Paris has accomplished first hand. The activities of the day are most relevant for local decision makers and technical experts from local and regional governments. Bringing together more than 200 participants, the Cities Festival will be open to everyone, giving preference to representatives from local and regional governments.
